This Matcha + Genmaicha Tea:
- Won Gold (1st Prize) in the 2024 Golden Leaf Tea Awards in the Matcha Blend Category.
- Contains Matcha powder that lightly dusts the Roasted Genmaicha Loose Leaf Tea, giving it freshness and depth of flavour. The Matcha adds a grassy, fresh, slightly sweet taste to the flavour profile.
- The Genmaicha Tea is made from Sencha Tea Leaves mixed with Roasted popped brown rice in it which give a slightly nutty taste. It's often referred to as "Popcorn Tea".
- Both of these two teas blend superbly and tasting the high grade Matcha mixed with the Roasted Rice Tea is a delight to the senses.
- It’s perfect to drink on its own with hot water (no hotter than 80 degrees. See brewing instructions below)
- Is a blend of 1st and 2nd harvested tea leaves, sourced within Kyushu island, Japan.

How to Make
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Add around 1 heaped teaspoon (around 4 grams) of Matcha + Genmaicha Tea with 1/2 cup of hot water (around 80-85°C) to a tea pot and steep for up to 60 seconds.
This method can also be used to make a cold brew version using cold water.

To guarantee optimal freshness, our Tea is transported by air from Japan and kept refrigerated until it is shipped to you.
Once you receive your tea, we recommend storing Matcha in the fridge either in the resealable pouch it comes in or an air tight & light proof storage jars.

- Being as eco-friendly as possible is so important to us which is why all of our tea comes in 100% Plastic Free Home Compostable Packaging.
- The triple barrier packaging of our tea pouches are ideal for storing Matcha as it locks in freshness and protects it from exposure to air, heat and light that can make Matcha appear dull and bitter.
- Econic® packaging is made from three compostable films derived from sustainably-produced wood pulp and GM-free corn sources.
- Each film has been certified to the European and American commercial compostability standards (EN 13432 and ASTM4600) and either the European or Australian home compostable standards: OK Compost Home or AS5810.
- You can put your used Econic® bags in your own home compost or worm farm, containing heat, water, oxygen, soil and micro-organisms.
- Compost trials have shown that Econic® bags can break down into small fragments in as little as 16 weeks.
- Tip - cutting the bag down into smaller pieces before putting in your compost allows it to break down quicker. Our labels are also 100% home compostable so you do not need to remove them prior to composting.
